My research interests include bioelectronics, neuroengineering and technology for treating neurological disorders and I am passionate about widening participation, particularly for Black students within academia.

  • Our book The Black PhD Experience: Stories of Strength, Courage and Wisdom in UK Academia is out now. It will debut at Barnes and Noble and Amazon in the US on October 15. Check the books section of my website.

  • De-Shaine has spent the last year as a Public Voices Fellow with the OpEd Project. During this time he has authored two op-eds in MedPage Today and Stat News which can be found in the articles section.

  • De-Shaine has entered the third year of his postdoc at the Wu Tsai Institute at Yale. An entry to the job market may be a possibility this year as he considers his future in academia, so watch this space for more updates.
