About

My journey into academia began with studying Chemistry at the University of Birmingham for my undergraduate studies in 2013. As part of an integrated masters degree (MSci) I was exposed to the research environment under the supervision of Dr Paramaconi Rodriguez, investigating the Electrochemical Filtration of Chemotherapy Drugs.

The path to a PhD…

Whilst completing my studies, I realised I enjoyed research and was encouraged to pursue it further. This led to my application to the Centre for Doctoral Training in Neurotechnology for Life and Health & being accepted to the 1 + 3 MRes + PhD programme at Imperial College London.

Under the supervision of Professor Martyn Boutelle & Professor George Malliaras (Cambridge) I developed One-Probe: A novel non-penetrative device to monitor the injured brain. This device is currently being optimised with a view to commercialise the finished product.

Postdoc across the pond…

After obtaining my Ph.D. degree, I moved across the pond to Yale, to begin my appointment as a Wu Tsai Institute Postdoctoral Fellow at Yale. I currently work on the NeuroProbe solution, an ecosystem of components that provide an integrated solution to multimodal monitoring of the injured brain. Read more on my postdoctoral work here.
